I used to work at a collection agency, thank God not as a collector. It takes a particular person to do that. But if they had even slightly thin skin, they were gone inside a week. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was a HUGE deal there; several people were fired for saying things that I've heard reported recently, plus the company was exposed to federal fines.
